CavalryAncient Chinese cavalry were sent into battle in great numbers. They were faster at crossing the battlefield and the soldier riding the horse would be higher than normal soldiers giving the rider an advantage. Cavalry officers mostly used swords, spears and halberds as weapons while on their horses. Their weapons would also have had to be longer than normal to reach down from up on their horses.

ChariotsThe Ancient Chinese chariot or 'Zhan Che' was used a lot in Chinese warfare history. It provided not only quicker, but more protected ways of attack and pursuit. Chariots were used by generals and leaders as a mobile way to command troop as well as being used by soldiers. Usually a chariot in battle would have a charioteer driving, an archer or multiple archers, and a soldier equipping a halberd, all of which would be wearing armour.
