SoldiersThe Ancient Chinese armies consisted of different types of soldiers and the Chinese used different tactics in their warfare. One of their tactics was to send in their lightly armed foot soldiers, then their heavily armed soldiers, and then their cavalry and chariots. All of the different types of soldiers would be equipped with a weapon and armour of some sort.

ArmySoldiers weren't very well respected in Ancient China, but were well respected if they had a peaceful life. The country needed to be protected and the emperor wanted a strong army. Luckily there were a lot of military engineers in China at the time. These engineers had outstanding military inventions which won China many battles. The first permanent army in Ancient China formed in the Han dynasty (206 BCE - 220 CE). Armies were mostly made up of farmers and ordinary men.
